Finally, A Way To Stay Small AND Succeed:
Discover the 3 Secrets of a Community-Built Business Model

(Let your community help you grow a small business that fits you and your life.)

People are bombarded with “solutions” every single day that only serve to overload and overwhelm.  We long to connect, yet we’re more and more isolated by technology. We receive messages through marketing that speak of millions of views, subscribers, dollars, leads, clicks, likes, and whatever else you can think of.

Now try to build a small business that fits you and your life in the middle of all of it.  Try to create something that is fulfilling, takes care of just you (or you and those you love), and makes a contribution.  A real contribution.

It’s hard isn’t it?

The problem is, we’re too disconnected and our businesses show it.

You go online and search for ways to connect and build without ever really coming into contact with other real people.  You’re pressured into scaling BIG (your not even sure what that means, but it sounds good).  You’re told to stop playing small.

But what if playing small, so your focus is on real connections and quality is the key to real success?

What if you could simply look to your community to create a strong foundation in your business and the success you desire, so you can build a small business that fits you and your life?

Staying small to succeed contradicts everything we see in the online world of business today. You have to stop playing small, reach millions, and scale FAST.  No one talks about ethics, quality for your clients, or whether it will last for the long-term.

Maybe it’s time we do talk about it.  Maybe it’s time we learn real skills, make real connections, and focus on who and what’s right here in our community.

I have to be honest with you:

This is a model that depends on the lack of clarity of those (like you) searching for answers to growing their business.  The focus is on quantity…not quality or what I call, “churn & burn.”  Unless you have millions to invest in the machine, this is not sustainable.

Sustainable is a small, ethical, community-built business that makes real connections with real people while gaining real skills your business needs.  Community-built is a counter-intuitive approach to business that focuses on what people need most.

Michelle Beitzel

Hi, I’m Michelle. People are more increasingly (and more alarmingly) missing what enables them to thrive.  In turn, their business attempts aren’t thriving either.

Years ago, I helped casinos revolutionize the way they marketed to their players.  I showed them how to develop different player personality types and tailor offers to each type of player.  It was a game-changer for sure (no pun intended).

I did this by watching the casino players closely.  Some played just to socialize or get some time away from the home life that was unsatisfying.  Some used it as a reward, some for status. But mostly people felt lonely, bored, and unfulfilled.  Being a very sensitive introvert, it made me feel terrible.

Helping people gamble more was not what I was brought here to do.  I watched peoples’ lives fall apart. It felt bad and I knew I had to take my talents elsewhere.

Next came the BIG multi-million dollar entrepreneurs in the FAST-paced internet marketing world.  Again, I watched people. They sought out quick, overnight solutions promising riches because they wanted to avoid real people, real connections, and had been sold on quick fixes.  I was writing sales copy, building email marketing campaigns, and sales funnels that generated millions. But it still felt wrong.

The last straw was a conversation with a woman who re-mortgaged her house to pay for an online program to build an online business.  She was over-promised and devastated.

I felt so far from my own sense of purpose.  Was I really contributing? Was I making my own real connections?  No. I was hidden away behind a laptop in a world separated from my own community right outside my front door.

Today, I’m bringing all of my expertise home.  I’ll share with you what I’ve learned that really works in marketing and what can work for you and your small business at the workshop.

The biggest discovery I made in studying people and business was this (and I’m included here):

To truly succeed, you and your business need:

  • Connection
  • Sense of Purpose
  • To Feel Like You’re Contributing
  • A Clear Understanding of How to Grow

The Community-Built business model recognizes these needs and understands that a sustainable business focuses on quality and connections for a strong foundation.  This strong foundation, once developed, can now reach any number of people online or offline.  It’s ethical, sustainable, and responsible.  This type of business is well-connected, more fulfilling, and makes a bigger impact.

Will the Community-Built business model work for you?

Hank Eder

Meet Hank:

Hank Eder is owner/publicist at Hank Eder Public Relations/Marketing. Specialties include turnkey eCommerce websites, writing for the web and print, newsletters, blogs, press releases, and more. Hank is the creator of Self-Propelled Marketing Academy, an online course that shows small business owners how to become their own publicity experts. One of Hank’s favorite client experiences was taking a client from total obscurity to having their product in the “swag bag” of an Academy Awards after-party on the strength of one national press release. This NEVER happens, but it did that one time.

Hank’s background includes a Journalism degree, experience at newspapers (including the Miami Herald), ad agencies, PR and marketing firms, and teaching broadcast and print journalism. This combined experience over the course of decades gives Hank a unique, “holistic” view of how to generate “organic” publicity for small businesses.

I’ll help you gain skills that your business needs, Hank will help you connect to our community in ways that grow your business for you.  Together, we’ll show you a community-built business model that proves you can stay small to succeed.

Finally, the 3 secrets of a community-built business model:

1. Know Your Community –  Your business needs resources, like people who can help you with aspects of your business that you don’t have the skills to do.  Your business needs to become known in your community through PR practices that make you seen. You need to make connections with people in your community, so your business can grow from word-of-mouth and influencer relationships.  We do this through little known PR, networking, and word-of-mouth strategies, not tactics.

2. Know Your People – You must know your perfect client inside and out.  By knowing your people really well, you can reach your people in a highly personalized manner that grabs attention.  This method ensures that your people can relate to you and your business in a way that takes “competition” out of your competitors because they aren’t even comparable.  We do this through identifying your perfect client with The Perfect Client Method and my proven “10 Thoughts” strategy.  We employ empathic email marketing and copywriting shortcuts that anyone can learn.

3. Know Yourself – You must have a sense of purpose for your business to make an impact.  A sense of purpose gives you a single focus.  You must be able to understand exactly how you will take your business from where it is now to where you want it to be through a Meaningful & Measurable approach.  You must gain the skills you need to feel like you can make a contribution.  You do this through specialized training, creating a community of peers, and planning together.

Master these 3 secrets and your business growth is limitless – whether offline or online, you grow from a foundation of connections, quality, and ethical, sustainable practices.

You can go the other way and try to reach the masses.  But I’ve been in “the BIG guys” world and I can tell you that they aren’t telling you the whole story.  The focus is on quantity and very FAST decisions, scaling, and high turn-over. It’s not about sustaining so much as staying ahead of the crashing wave.  If that’s you, go for it.

Or if you are more concerned with making an impact in your community, contributing to a positive-intent world then focus on a community-built model, stay small in a manner that takes care of you and your loved ones while creating true “sky’s the limit” growth potential that can last a lifetime.
